Bookish Eugenics
First compelling evidence that the McSweeney's edition of Houellebecq's Lovecraft book does actually exist: publication date is 1 May, and it has an introduction by Stephen King, along with two Lovecraft tales. Could be worth a look, depending on which side of the adore/despise McSweeney's divide you fall on. Anyone who buys it, let me know in which parts my translation is particularly misguided...
Infinite Thought is enjoying an energetic blogging episode – nothing to do with the fact that she's supposed to be holed up finishing her thesis, of course. The astonishingly revelatory remarks about books and hairs have all the hallmarks of a potential SF masterwork (subgenre intellectual-eugenics-horror-futurism). Libraries as self-selective DNA-cataloguing systems. The geneology of morals?

All done in the five minute break I accord myself once every two days, honest.
Wish I'd thought of the genealogy of morals link in the hair post though, that's very good.
Back to work!
